EPM Oracle Cloud or No Cloud

Oracle EPM Cloud Or No Cloud

With Oracle EPM 11.1.2.4 premier support ending in Dec 2021, there are a lot of organizations that are still dealing with questions like:

  • Should we move to 11.2.X
  • Is it the right move
  • Is it possible to move to 11.2.X in such a short span of time
  • Can we move directly with Cloud and never deal with infra issues again
  • What should be our move strategy, would a cloud be able to support our on-prem layout
  • What will be the transition plan

If you are asking these questions you are not alone and you are asking the right questions.

Organizations are focusing on IT landscape that is leaner and fitter, with reduced Infrastructure deployment and maintenance costs with simpler and faster implementations. Oracle’s survey mentioned that about 78% of organizations who already have one or more EPM processes in the cloud said they would be likely or very likely to move across more of them

For organizations that have been using Hyperion on-prem solutions for years, this is the right time to evaluate migrating to the cloud, as along with business’ FP&A processes, EPM cloud applications too have matured into a more robust and complete solution. Having worked on an on-prem EPM solution for so long, Organizations today know exactly what they need from an EPM system.

For new entrants or organizations that are sitting on fence, the recent times of disruption have given an opportunity to evaluate the shortcomings of their current business processes and it is the best time if the not right time to move to more innovative and connected solutions. Following are the approaches that Oracle recommends to move to Cloud EPM.

Here is a quick table that may help you to make a decision on if staying on-prem makes sense or moving to the cloud.

Feel free to reach out for a tailored approach and to see what makes sense for you!

Cheers!
