Deployment of O2B on weblogic

Image
O2B Deployment on the Oracle Weblogic Application Server: Its just a war file which can be deployed to any application server. Here I will be helping you with the steps to deploy the O2B war to Oracle WLS. I will be deploying this to an up and running EPM environment, to add more fun, will using this on 8300 port. As its going to complement Hyperion Planning in some way, I found it better to have it on the same port. At the end of this blog you will be able to access this using following link:  http://<servername>:8300/O2B Login to the Weblogic Server After logging in, Click on Deployments link in the left pane:   You see all Libraries and Web applications. Please Click on Lock and Edit and then Click on Install to deploy new web application. Browse to the war file location and select war file   Select the first option, Install this deployment as an application and click Next You can create your own server and cluster, but I am

Creating a Sample HPCM application

Image
Creating a sample HPCM application is fairly easy, Oracle has provided the complete information on the same. All you need to do is to go to the below location and follow the read-me. <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\EPMSystem11R1\products\Profitability\samples\ At above location you can find the metadata, data, rule files etc for both simple and detailed HPCM applications. I have followed the process to create a simple HPCM application and documented it for all of us. Once you will navigate to above location on the server where HPCM is installed you will find the following zips. All of these zips are important and contains respective information, we need to begin with the EPMA zip. Lets copy the EPMA zip to import_export folder for performing LCM import for out Sample Application. Once the import is successful you will get the sample application created in the EPMA application library.  Now, lets deploy this application. After deploying you will be able to

Enabling for Dynamic Children Option in Planning and How to Utilize This Using Calc Manager Rules

Image
Enabling for Dynamic Children One of the new features of Hyperion Planning is it now allows us to add members dynamically. When working with business rules in module applications, users can create members on an as needed basis if they are prompted that insufficient members exist, and that an administrator must refresh the database to recreate the required placeholders in Oracle Essbase. This ability to create members dynamically enables users to quickly and conveniently define the members they need without an administrator having to refresh the database. This concept is familiar, you probably have used To Be Hired employees, we have the members TBH1,2, etc. Lets take an example to understand this in detail. I am anticipating some future entities, in order to accommodate that I have kept a provisioning of few members. Here are the steps I need to follow in order to configure dimensional member parents to support dynamic members: ·          Create the member, ·          Enabl
